Cars stop at the edge of a lake that was Firestone Blvd., east of Paramount Blvd., in Downey. Flooded from a recent winter storm, the water is so deep that some roadblocks are almost submerged and people are being ferried in boats. The water extends past the pumps at the Signal gas station, left. Photo dated: Jan., 1952.
