Thought for the day by Charles Handy on curiosity, adult learning, and the need for positive reinforcement and regard for adult growth and development in organizations. Handy begins his thought describing how, in his upbringing, one could not make mistakes nor ask questions in learning life's lessons. He proceeds to express delight in the fact that times have changed and schools and organizations are now encouraging curiosity in the learning process, that accepting and forgiving mistakes, instead of punishing people when mistakes occur, is coming into practice, and understanding that demonstrating warm encouragement and unconditional positive regard can bring out the best in employees and pupils. Handy closes the analysis emphasizing how the Bible is a manual that contains all of these lessons - curiosity, forgiveness, and love.
