Description
Fred Farr speaking with supporters of Pioneer House, a nursery school established in Seaside to serve 3 and 4-year-old children from underserved communities. Participants include Monterey teacher Ed Larsh, President of the Pioneer House Board of Directors Virginia Norris, Monterey teacher Charlie Knight, new Director of the Pioneer House, Marjorie Farmer, and Monterey teacher and Vice President of the American Federation of Teachers Jane O’Heron. They are promoting a Joan Biaz concert organized to raise money for the Pioneer House. Please note: outdated and potentially offensive terms are used during the interview. This tape is part of Fred Farr's papers. It is labeled "Aug. 18th". Fred Farr served as California State Senator representing Monterey County from 1955 to 1967.
