Approximately 8000 persons attended the festivities there in East Los Angeles. Classes of Lilly Aguilar, playground dancing teacher, presented four programs of Mexican folk dances. Also, celebrations were held at Olvera Street, with the Los Angeles Tipica Orchestra providing music for a three-hour show of singing and dancing. "Viva Mexico" was the fiesta staged at Plummer Park, where honored guests were members of early California families.
