Description
Photograph was edited for publication purposes
Photograph article dated December 2, 1960 partially reads, "Mrs. Brauer was told not to call the embassy again. Khrushchev was too busy with state matters, she was informed, and would not talk with her during his stay in New York. The letters she had written, Mrs. Brauer was told, would be given to Khrushchev upon completion of his work and he would consider her request. Her request is that her parents, both in their 70s, be permitted to come to the United States from their home in Tashkewt in the Ukraine."
