Description
This oral history interview with Harold "Nate" Murphy, CMDR, USN, (Rtd) regards the battle for Guadalcanal at the beginning of the WW2 war in the Pacific. SDASM Docent Ron Carrico, conducted the interview. Nate Murphy was a dive bomber pilot flying the SBD Dauntless. Nate spent about 5 weeks on the Island at Henderson Field during the worst of the battle as the Japanese attempted to recover the field after the American landing in August 1942.
