Description
Photograph of George Wharton James' party making camp after landing two small outboard boats on the bank of the Colorado River, ca.1900. One man stands in one of the boats looking out over the river. Another man walks inland on shore just beyond a severely leaning tree. Another man is bent over a campfire(?) in a copse of trees a little bit further inland. The unloaded camping gear sits on the ground nearby. Dead tree branches litter the shore in the foreground.
