Americans Martin Johnson (1884-1937) and Osa Johnson (1894-1953) spent several years in Kenya filming footage for the documentary Simba: King of the Beasts (1928) and would have stayed with Dr Irvine. ❧ Image from the collection of Dr Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974) showing the early years of the Chogoria mission, established near Mt Kenya in 1922 and run by Dr Irvine, ministering to the Chuka and Mwimbi peoples.
