Description
Aerial view looking north at the Hollywoodland sign on Mount Lee in Griffith Park in the Hollywood Hills area of the Santa Monica Mountains, California, with the Don Lee Television Broadcasting Station and transmission tower atop the hill, and the San Fernando Valley visible in the distance. The "H" on the sign has fallen down.
Title devised by cataloger. Date approximated by cataloger based on condition of the Hollywood sign; the "H" was destroyed in the early 1940s, and "LAND" removed in 1949. The “Hollywoodland” sign was erected in 1923.
