Description
KCRA-TV news footage of the Squaw Valley tram accident on April 15, 1978, that killed four people and injured over 30 others. Includes interviews with survivors at the hospital and Squaw Valley owner Alex Cushing. Also includes footage of the tram operating on January 6, 1979, the first day it was put back into service after the accident.

Written on film leader for r01: S12C 20 03 05; 35:41; Note included with first reel: "Squaw Valley S12C 20 03 05; April 16, 1978; Squaw Valley, Ca. Ski Resort. On the night of April 16, High winds of 50 MPH and more broke cables holding trams. A few people were killed, many more injured who were in trams ascending the mountain. Young woman in tram describes what happened in detail. Interview runs for 8 minutes. Film shows injured placed in ambulances, snowing conditions, interview. News.
