Description
Charles Handy article exploring aspects of leadership and work. Handy states that what is needed is horizontal thinking, rather than traditional vertical thinking, in organizational culture. This kind of organizational restructuring, according to Handy, is required so that managers and other types of leaders do not plateau in their knowledge, abilities, and ultimately their usefulness to an organization. Horizontal learning will also prevent organizations from continuous overturning of leadership personnel, employee boredom, and potential disharmony in worker relations from a constant stream of new professionals.
