Description
Article from American Weekly newspaper circular, likely included with the San Francisco Examiner. "Night and day and holidays the carpenters' hammers were kept going to frighten off the wicked ghosts, staircases with 2-inch steps built to annoy them, a bell was tolled to tell them when they should hasten back to their graves, and other astonishing things in the endless house which rambles over many acres."
