Photograph of a Hopi man weaving a kochina sash for a ceremonial kilt, Arizona, ca.1898. The Hopi man sits at left in front of the loom containing the partially-finished kilt. He has very long straight hair which hangs to the small of his back and wears a long-sleeved shirt and vest. His head is turned to his right. He sits on a furry animal pelt on the dirt floor, surrounded by several rocks.
