Description
The 4th of July in 1908 saw banners and bunting at the Visalia, Calif., city hall and "fire engine house." The building was at the southeast corner of Church and Acequia streets on a site donated around 1869 by D. R. Douglas. The upper story was added in 1876. This building was used only one more year, being demolished in 1909 when a new city hall was erected. At the far left is Billy Lewis with the boys' hose team. The house at right was built by Newton Kibler on the southwest corner of Church and Acequia streets.
