Description
A stylistic type of HMong hat that appeared in the 1980s for women and girls to wear to the New Year celebration in the West. It is covered in pink and green polyester fabrics and lined by a blue and white polka dot synethic fabric. The hat is decorated with plastic beads, sequins, and purple and silver trim. There is a layer of simple chain-stitched zig-zag designs on the bottom panel in purple, orange, green, pink, and blue. These designs are done in cotton threads over cotton aida cloth.
