Description: Kenny Washington, former U.C.L.A. All-American, was chosen Southern California Athlete of the Year by sports editors of the Los Angeles newspapers. He will play for the Hollywood Bears Football Club of the Pacific Coast League this season. Washington is seen here looking at the Helms award which he won in 1939, as Athlete of the Year.
