Marissa, a Santeria priestess, also known as a lyalrishas, or mother of Orisha, the Santeria god, standing in front of her altar in her home, 399 NW 72nd Avenue & 3rd Street, Miami, Florida, 3 July 2002. Her altar is in her bedroom, and the majority of the altar pieces are on top of a bureau which also holds a few papers and a television set. Marissa is standing in the center, and to her right the closet door is open, and on a folding table are more objects pertaining to Santeria pictures, vases, and what appears to be incense pots. Marissa is standing in the center of all this with her arms outstretched.
