View of crowds on the shores of Long Beach in front of the bathhouse, or Plunge (far right), at The Pike amusement park in Long Beach. Other amusement-goers are strolling on the boardwalk or under the bathhouse's long colonnade.; Started in 1902, The Pike ran until 1979. When the Pacific Electric line to Long Beach was built, the Long Beach Bath House and Amusement Company built this bath house on the beach near the end of the street car line.
