Description
A carbon copy of a prescription for medicinal liquor issued May 15th, 1929. While the National Prohibition Act made the production, transport, and sale of liquor illegal, it did make allowances for medical and religious use. However, doctor's could only write these prescription on specific pads issued by the U.S. Treasury Department in conjunction with the Bureau of Prohibition. The prescription pads where ornately decorated in a style similar to bonds to prevent forgery, patients also were only given a 3 day window to redeem it by presenting both the duplicated and the original to designated Druggists.
