Description
This is an audio recording of a series of panelists speaking about nonprofit organizations, or “the third sector”. In this part we hear from John Jacob, Frances Hesselbein, and Bob Buford. Jacob focuses his talk on strategies to help nonprofits have a more clear purpose, and be more relevant and productive. He uses examples from the organization he works with, the National Urban League. Hesselbein discusses the Girl Scouts of the United States of America and what the organization has learned from Drucker. She states that although they are a diverse organization, if they could have a patron saint, it would be Peter Drucker. She also lists eight ingredients for successful volunteer and staff partnerships. Buford speaks about his faith and values, the death of his son, and some prominent philanthropists. He says Drucker has the best global understanding of the macro world and one on one understanding of individuals.
