The photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on September 11, 1984 states: "A Las Vegas pharmaceutical firm that specializes in "mood-elevating" drugs for aging people fighting depression has begun a 140-room expansion of the bankrupt Tahoe Mariner Hotel, previously owned by the brother of U. S. Sen. Paul Laxalt, R-Neva. The firm plans to create a European-style spa-casino aimed at middle- and upper middle-aged executives from the Bay area."
