Title supplied by cataloger. Methodism is a group of historically related denominations of Protestant Christianity which originated in the 18th century, and whose movement traces its origins to the evangelistic teachings of John Wesley. It emphasizes that Christ accomplished salvation for every human being, and humans must exercise an act of the will to be saved. It also affirms the traditional Christian belief in the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), as well as the orthodox understanding of the consubstantial humanity and divinity of Jesus. As of 2006, Methodism had approximately 75 million members worldwide. Photo shows a large marquee on the front lawn of St. John's United Methodist Church, located at 1715 Santa Ana Blvd North. Built in the Spanish Colonial style, the church is painted a light beige, and an arched main entrance nestles double wooden doors. The marquee states that St. John's United Methodist Church was founded on February 23, 1923, moved to this location on October 18, 1964, and was dedicated on June 4, 1978. Verso on photo states that this particular church was founded on March 22, 1936 and was formerly known as Iglesia Metodista Episcopal El Buen Pastor. Photo dated: April 2007
