Photograph of a front view of Stanford University, ca.1900. Palm trees stand in the foreground lining a large, trimmed field on the left. Across the field at center is a wall of palm trees and bushes with the tall, lightly-colored archway leading to the university standing just behind. Short corridors on either side of the archway lead to several large buildings on the left as well as the physiology and zoology buildings on the right. Archways are cut into the entire front side of each building as well as the corridors between them.
