Description
Shown is a circa 1921 postcard of Alexander Brown’s Walnut Grove Hotel in Walnut Grove, California. Not to be confused with an earlier Walnut Grove Hotel, Brown had this hotel built in 1918 along the Sacramento River with pressed brick and modern architecture. River Enterprises, Inc. purchased the hotel in 1961, renamed it the Boon-Dox Botel, renovated the building, and installed proper docks. A fire destroyed the hotel in 1969.
