Photograph article dated August 30, 1961 partially reads, "The new Tenth District Councilman said today he would be willing to move to the Valley, if his district is transferred. 'I want to emphasize that I know of no redistricting plan that would transfer the Tenth District to the Valley at this time,' said Joe E. Hollingsworth. 'But in the event it did happen, I would enjoy living in the Valley.' Hollingsworth added, 'I hear all this talk about heat in the San Fernando Valley. But I lived in Phoenix for years and loved the hot weather.' Hollingsworth was elected to the Los Angeles City Council Friday in a 8-6 vote of his fellow council members."; See images #00126493 through #00126496 for all photos in this series.
