Description: Lawn bowling contestants took time out every now and then to take on special refreshments consisting of ice cold buttermilk. This picture shows some of the players "stoking up" for the next round on the green. One hundred and thirty-two men, forming 33 teams, and 60 women, making up 15 teams, competed in the modern tournament of the ancient game. Photo dated: September 11, 1926.
