Description
Photograph of Chutes Park (later Horsley Park) looking north towards Los Angeles, showing the Sixteenth Street School, ca.1905. What appears to be a diver's platform stands at the center of the image with the water in the background well away from it. A small railroad track curves in from the bottom of the frame to the lower right corner, where pedestrians can be seen walking. Several pier attractions advertise themselves in the distance across the water reading "Shooting Gallery", "Hall of Illusions" and "Bowling Alley". The roof of a gazebo is visible in the bottom of the extreme left foreground. Other legible signs include: "Cigars & Tobaccos" and "Restaurant".
