Two deaconesses, nurses at the Leper-house in Orofara, on the beach The two deaconesses, sent by the Société des missions évangéliques de Paris (Paris evangelical missionary society), worked in the Leper-house of Orofara from 1924 to 1927 : Sister Martha Junker and Sister Rosa Lefebvre. Comment : The Leper-house of Orofara, located in the valley of Mahina (Tahiti), was established in 1914 by the colonial government.
