Rev. Jesse Jackson speaking at the opening of Pepperdine University's Reading Center on April 16, 1977. A part of the School of Education, the Reading Center was located on South Vermont Avenue near the original Los Angeles campus and was designed to serve student and community needs, including assistance to disabled readers.
