Photographer's caption reads, "A view of the Farmers Market from the roof of the Writers Guild Building at Third Street and Fairfax Avenue. East of the Farmers Market is the construction of The Grove shopping mall. Reflected in the black entrance rotunda of the Writers Guild Building is CBS Television City. On the distant hillside can barely be seen the landmark Hollywood sign. By last count (23 March 2000) the Department of Transportation showed that within 24 hours 33,822 vehicles traveled east and west on 3rd Street, and 46,787 traveled north and south on Fairfax Avenue, bringing to life the Farmers Market slogan, "Meet me at Third and Fairfax.""
