My name is Maria Piva and I was born in Argentina. I came to America when I was nine along with my mom, dad, and brother. My parents decided to move to New York in 1996 because of the bad economy in South America. I moved to the Bay Aea when I was in 7th grade and it's a lot sunnier over here than in New York. I still go back to Argentina to visit my relatives around Christmas time. I am very strong in my religion and so is my family. In some of the picture I provided a handmade cup and straw from Argentina to show the cultural side of where I came from. I also have toys from when I left at nine years old, written prayers on cards from Argentina, and chocolates from the holidays around Christmas time when I go visit my relatives there. America seems to have a lot of people that can be very inconsiderate and some people that remain friends for a long time who listen and care.
