Title supplied by cataloger. In 1960, the North Hollywood YMCA became the East Valley YMCA. Photograph caption dated January 21, 1960 reads, "Andrew Achterkirchen accepts trophy as winner of Los Angeles Hi-Y Boy of the Year honor from Ernest J. Loebbecke, chairman of selection committee. Achterkirchen, 3927 Goodland Ave., North Hollywood, also received $1,000 scholarship to college of his choice". The award was made to the YMCA high school youth with the best active participation in YMCA activities, leadership, outstanding school event participation and scholarship. Andy Achterkirchen, a student of North Hollywood High School, represented the Athenians Hi-Y Club of the North Hollywood area YMCA. Mr. Loebbecke was president of the Title Insurance and Trust Company and the chairman of the award selection committee.
