Description
Daniel J. Boorstin discusses his book, “The Creators.” He begins by explaining that the idea of a single religious ‘creator’ is a Judeo-Christian phenomenon and it is not seen in other cultures that worship multiple gods. He talks about how his book is a compilation of some of the most important creators throughout history: painters, architects, mathematicians, writers, and scientists. Boorstin discusses some important monuments like Stonehenge, the pyramids of Giza, and Gothic cathedrals. He describes his selection process of the book, and explains that he only chose works that he has seen in person. He ends the interview by talking about his position as the Librarian of Congress for 12 years.
