Description
A panorama photograph of attendees of the 2nd annual statewide conference of the Buddhist Sunday School Teachers League sitting and standing in rows outside of the Hongwanji Buddhist Temple in Stockton, California. There is a handwritten caption on the photograph that says "Buddhist Sunday School Teacher's Second Annual Statewide Conference March 16, 1952 Stockton Calif." The Nishimura and Nagata Family Papers contains items relating to the history of the Pasadena Buddhist Church, including photos of events and groups associated with the church like the Pasadena Buddhist Women's Association, the Young Buddhist League (BL), various Buddhist Church conferences, Judo competitions, and Kendo competitions. Materials also relate to the incarceration of the Nagata family at the Heart Mountain incarceration camp in Cody, Wyoming and include photographs of the family.
