Divided back. Made in Germany. Postmarked May 6, 1917, Gilroy, to Mrs A. J. Zumbrunn, Enterprise, Kansas. "Gilroy , Cal. May 6-1917. Hello dearies: We got your dear letter a few days ago, and was so glad to hear from you, but dear Alice & Marie was already gone. They started fast since April the 9 (?) it is just a week today and I been so lonely since they got their tickets by telegram so it was a sudden parting and you know parting is hard but we must think there is no separation in love we are all close together in our mind and we love each other. Sadie is still in Frisco I ask her to come home a while Alice will love and kiss you all for Sadie and Maggie. We are having beautiful weather sure do miss them dear girlies so much Alice is so good."
