Description
Photograph of an exterior view of a building that is in the process of being moved, showing a Star House Movers truck and accompanying signage, ca.1920-1929. A two-story building, constructed in the Monterey style of architecture, sits above the ground on a wooden platform. Striped awnings decorate its windows, while a flowerbox sits outside a second story window. The house, in the process of being moved, bears signs reading "Star House Movers, Inc" and "This Work Being Done by Star House Movers, Inc. 2200 Silver Lake Ave. Olympia 1976. Los Angeles, Calif", and the number 672. In front of the house, attached to the moving platform, is the Star House Movers truck. Three men stand to the left of the truck, looking at the house, while two others stand further to the left in conversation, with another to their left on the paved sidewalk. A stretch of open pavement fills the foreground, receding into the background, under the house a line of automobiles is parked along its right edge. Buildings and trees are visible in the background to both the left and the right side of the house.
