Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated April 12, 1962 reads, "Lilac Queen Janis McCoin displays a cluster of lilacs similar to those which can be seen Saturday and Sunday at the 15th annual Lilac Show in Palmdale. Theme of this year's show, which will be held at Yucca School, is 'Legends in Lilacs.' Special features of the show will include exhibits from the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Descanso Gardens, oil paintings by Antelope Valley artists, wild lilacs in full bloom and other wild flowers along the highway. Each woman visiting the free public show will be given a spray of lilacs."
