Redwood Region. A close-up of Douglas fir seedlings shown in #7123. Height growth: in 1940, 8"-12"; 1941, 12"-24; 1942, 18"-36". Six to nine years old, 4'-6' high. A nearby stump of Douglas fir cut in 1933 shows rapid growth. Probably six or seven years old, allowing for seedling establishment. Five rings near ground line. 10-4-42. E.F
