Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated November 2, 1963 partially reads, "A new beer bottle has been designed for an extraordinary brew which has been available, until now, only on draught. The vase-shaped flagon should become history's first 'no deposit, no return, no discard' beer bottle. To make a brown beer bottle bud vase, you drink the suds, add buds, place on a base. The candle thing takes a little longer, like maybe five minutes. We stuck a Christmas decoration on the bottle, a white candle in the top and painted the works aluminum...In the background, naturally is the product itself, Michelob, pronounced 'Mick-el-lobe,' a product of Anheuser-Busch."
