Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated September 16, 1961 reads "Paul Baldwin, 18, 6518 Dempsey Ave., left, was mowing his lawn Thursday when suddenly a steer appeared. It ran over the lawn, into the power mower and through the yard. Baldwin gave chase. He ran west on Victory boulevard, north on Whitman avenue, east on Haynes street, north on Haskell avenue--and finally cornered the steer in a yard at 6935 Firmament Ave. with police and neighbors. With Baldwin, above, is Thomas B. Griffin, 6157 Tampa Ave., Reseda, center, who joined the chase when the steer nearly hit his truck, and police officer H. D. Peterson."
