Margaret Coel discusses her novel, “Eye of the Wolf.” She explains that it is the 11th book in the series that follows the characters Vicky Holden and Father John O’Malley. Coel gives background on her characters, namely Vicky who is a lawyer working on the Wind River Indian Reservation, and Father John who is a missionary priest working there as well. She talks about the history of Bates, a classic battleground where the Shoshoni and Arapaho Indians fought. She describes how she gives her characters flaws so they seem more lifelike and appealing to the readers. She discusses her writing tactics and how she decides what to write next. She ends the interview by talking about the differences among the many Native American tribes.
