Photograph of a statue of "Nuestra Señora" (Our Lady of Sorrow) at the Presidio Church at Mission San Carlos Borromeo, Monterey, ca.1906. The beseeching figure stands with hands clasped. A crown of light rays eminates from her head. The glass door to the alcove inset in the wall is open. A small cross containing a relic sits at the feet of the statue at right. A wooden cabinet is inset below the statue. Two other figures stand at either side. Ornamental painting is on the walls and ceiling.
