Description
Photograph of a birdseye view of the main channel of the Port if Los Angeles, looking north over the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro, ca.1970. The Vincent Thomas Bridge bisects the image horizontally at a slight diagonal, running from just below center left to just above center right. The harbor fills the fore- and middlegrounds, with a concrete dock building in the foreground that reads, from left to right, "American Mail Line", "American President Lines", and "Pacific Far East Line". A ship and two tugboats sail under the left center of the bridge. Several other ships and barges are docked throughout the harbor. Wilmington can be seen in the distance to the right, while the San Gabriel Mountains sit in the center background, to the north of downtown Los Angeles.
