Wallace, former Vice President and Cabinet member, gave a speech at Gilmore Stadium in the Fairfax district where he ended a Los Angeles visit. Progressive Citizens of America sponsored the event.; Second photograph caption dated May 21, 1947 reads, "John Garfield, pictured here with his wife, Ronnie, considered death of his 6-year old daughter, Katherine, in 1945 one of his greatest tragedies. The film star, who died unexpectedly of heart attack has two other children, David, 7, and Julie, 4."
