Description
The donor�s typed notation attached to this image reads, �This building is the old Alamitos Land and Water Company�s office. The foreground is where the Sea Bright Hotel stood after being moved four miles from its original location at �Sea Bright.� The surveyor [at far right] is Billy Sweeney. The man sitting on the foundation was a bricklayer by the name of Cryer [sic]; on the wheelbarrow [at left], myself�This was on the southeast corner of First Street and Pacific Avenue.� Others in this image are unidentified. The lookout tower visible in the background is the Ocean View Railroad Station�s meeting room, located at Ocean Boulevard and Pacific Avenue. DATE NOTES: Circa 1900 marked on image back. ORIG.
