Photograph caption dated January 30, 1957 reads, "Snow plows clear Ridge Route - Snow plows clear snow from Ridge Route after snow reached depth of 18 inches at Gorman. More than 200 truck drivers were stranded in Palmdale by ice and snow which closed Highway 6 to all but automobiles with chains. Blizzard conditions were reported on Highway 6 where strong winds whipped snow through mountainous area."; See images #00116868 through #00116874 for all photos in this series.
