Photograph article dated October 5, 1958 partially reads, "A prominent sportscaster in this town might say it this way: 'Strictly Confidential - IS IT TRUE,' that Valley College may have a football powerhouse lurking in the guise of the underdog, ready to upset established junior college powerhouses? Apparently the Monarchs of Valley impress the two national junior college polls which have Valley in the 12th and 13th spots on their list." Photograph caption reads, "Phil Carlotta - Monarch rambler."
