Description
Ellen Kean writes to her sister Martha, called "Hetty" in the letter, to give her updates on her travel to Pittsburg then Cincinnati. Ellen tells Martha of their current situation in which the ship on which she is a passenger is trapped by the ice near Pittsburg. Ellen describes her future travel plans in the United States and tells Martha not to worry. Letter contains a seal and functions as an envelope. Letter also contains an embossing. Martha's address can be seen on the last page. Page contains handwritten notations.
