Description
Photograph of the exterior of the Whittier Public School, ca.1910. The school, which was built in 1889, is a two story building with wooden molding. There is a tower over the entrance, topped by a covered observation deck. There is a simple staircase leading to the front door, which is on the left side of the image. Flying on a flagpole near a chimney in the middle of the roof is an American flag. In the foreground, there is a large lawn with a variety of medium-sized trees. On the right is another small building and a basketball court.
