Photograph caption dated November 17, 1956 reads, "Lorraine Giebelhaus, pediatrics nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Burbank, checks temperatures of, left to right, Susan, 8, Mary, 6, and Carrie Nickell, 4, just before sisters had tonsils removed. Youngsters are taking advantage of ice cream today, now that their tonsillectomies are over. They are daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Nickell Jr., 14717 Covello St., Van Nuys. He is alumni fund director for USC."
